Overview

My client, a multinational food retailer, is looking for a Regional Butchery Manager to join the Operations Management team. They are looking for someone that is dedicated, knowledgeable, reliable and efficient as the position is responsible for the operations of all store butcheries in the region.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

New Store Operations 

  • Review and plan layouts for butcheries in new stores
  • Assist with new store preparations in the butchery departments

Supplier and Equipment Management 

  • Manage and develop the supplier database on a continuous basis
  • Negotiations with suppliers for all stock items and department consumables
  • Managing store supply chain procedures and ensuring that only preferred suppliers are used
  • Overseeing maintenance cycles

Stock and Range Management 

  • Evaluate product movement for the region and report it to senior operations management
  • Identifying new product opportunities
  • Compiling store/location specific product lists
  • Oversee and manage in-store production is strictly adhered to
  • Ensuring consistent product availability

Managing Butchery Profitability 

  • Analysis and reporting on butchery sales per location in the region
  • Managing the butchery as per company SOP
  • Setting sales and profit targets for locations and stores
  • Working with managers to determine challenges and root causes of major problems
  • Managing and monitoring wastage and shrinkage

Manage Customer Service 

  • Ensuring that all stores and butchery locations meet all customer service level requirements
  • Ensuring that all locations are providing customers with the required quality of product
  • Tending to issues within the department

Department Systems Management

  • Reviewing and developing and enhancing department SOP’s
  • Driving health and safety initiatives to maintain SHE regulations
  • Manage the process of evaluating butcheries to ensure compliance
  • Ensuring that all staff development and training has taken place on time

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 Years experience as a Regional Butchery Manager from a national retailer 
  • Proven management experience managing multiple locations
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Matric
  • Own Vehicle and Valid Licence
