Our client, based in Strand, researches, develops, and manufactures the products that make your life easier. They are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team. 


Job Description: 

To ensure that the product or service an organisation provides is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. Coordinate the activities required to meet quality standards



  • National Diploma/Degree (Quality or Engineering) or similar
  • Formal training in Quality Management System (ISO 9001;2000 standard) &
  • Experience in Food Safety Management System ( FSSC22000) 
  • Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt certification would be advantageous



  • At least 3 years industry-related experience
  • Proven experience in performing Internal audits, writing of procedures, implementation of ISO 9001:2000 system/  FSSC 22000 system, writing of Quality Plans
  • Understand & Speak Afrikaans, Xhosa (advantageous) 



  • Ability to conduct sub-contractors and suppliers audits
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  1. Plan, co-ordinate and direct quality control programme designed to ensure continuous
  2. production of products consistent with established standards
  3. Develop and analyse statistical data and product specifications to determine present
  4. standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product
  5. Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and co-ordinate objectives with
  6. production procedures in co-operation with other plant managers to maximise product
  7. reliability and minimise costs
  8. Direct, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspection and testing activities
  9. to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
  10. Plan, promote, and organise training activities related to product quality and reliability
  11. May investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding quality



  1. Provide efficient quality assurance support service
  • Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the
  • organisation
  • Set QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved
  • Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including
  • budgetary control issues
  • Assess the product specifications of the company and its suppliers and compare with
  • customer requirements
  • Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation
  • Consider the application of environmental and health and safety standards
  • Agree standards and establish clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply
  • Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
  • Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures
  • Identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver training
  • Collate and analyse performance data and charts against defined parameters
  • Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and
  • that product modifications are investigated if necessary
  • Supervise technical staff in carrying out tests and checks
  • Write technical and management systems reports
  • Bring together staff of different disciplines and drive the group to plan, formulate
  • and agree comprehensive quality procedures
  • Persuade reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality
  • methods
  • Liaise with customers’ auditors and ensure the execution of corrective action and
  • compliance with customers’ specifications
  • Establish standards of service for customers or clients
  • Prepare clear explanatory documents such as customers’ charters
  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports

  • Establish, guide, direct and oversee the Department in alignment with overall strategy and objectives
  • Identify and timeously address problems and opportunities central to business success
  • Plan, select, develop and maintain suitable manpower capabilities for the Department
