Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job

To grow company revenue by bringing in new clients and business. To achieve revenue sales target set for the incumbent fiscal year and manage customer relationships to influence business predictability out of prescribed accounts and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).


Identify new business opportunities:

  • Watch the market for changes that could benefit the company.
  • Contact landlords and get Client lists.
  • Send brochures to Clients.
  • Set up meetings and meet with Clients.
  • Send proposal based on Client requirements.
  • Follow up on proposals.
  • Gather Client information on our existing sites to target as customers.
  • Look for new precincts/business sites whether there may be opportunities to sell services.
  • Upsell existing clients into higher packages or renew contracts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships (C, D and E levels) to expand market share and making SADV the preferred partner with key clients for future business.
  • Gather customer intelligence information to understand customer better to lead customer needs conversations.
  • Perform market and competitor analysis.
  • Pitch and sell SADV product set to new clients utilising a strategic, conceptualised solution selling approach.
  • Engage the senior management on quarterly basis and or half yearly to facilitate SADV client top management engagement.
  • Retain existing customer business and grow through renewal of contracts and uptake of services.
  • Drive and support products and marketing initiatives into client account, making use of diligent, robust and thorough account management principles.
  • Manage pre- and post-sales support to ensure seamless integration of SADV products into client’s business


  • Send a minimum 30 service proposals out per month.
  • A minimum of 50% of lead qualification
  •  Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Deals closed vs deals lost are in a 70:30 ratio.
  • Quotes generated vs quotes signed are in a 70:30 ratio.
  • Meet key stakeholders of key clients to develop client relationships.
  • Responsible for ensuring that partners and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) maximise the uptake on our network.
  • Use customer intelligence information to sell more creatively to existing or new customers.
  • Map strategic ADP’s in order to maximize uptake on SADV OA Network.
  • Yearly attendance of important conferences and seminars with the ICT/telecommunications sector to engage new or existing customers.
  • Customer satisfaction (100%)
  • Manage customer dissatisfaction (100%)

Cold Call:

  • Obtain Client lists from landlords or property agents.
  • Either call or visit the Clients to promote and offer services.
  • Measure what the customer needs and indicate the availability of these services from SADV.
  • Provide a value proposition to key decision makers.
  • If there is a requirement for a service, generate and send a proposal.
  • Generate a quote.
  • Follow up


  • Proposals and quotes sent within 48 hours of meeting prospective clients
  • Build and Nurture Customer Relationships:
  • Be the face of SADV to customers
  • Farm opportunities from existing relationships.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients through visits and catch-ups with landlords, brokers and portfolio managers.
  • Build relationships by engaging in golf or other entertainment with key contacts from time to time with the goal of obtaining business.
  • Discuss and propose new projects.
  • Be available to take calls to clarify issues, build relationship and up-sell.
  • Act in a manner that will streamline working relationships between customers and SADV.


  • 2 new relationships per month

Close deals:

  • Follow up on new business to obtain customer commitment.
  • Facilitate the signing of contracts.

Capture new business on the CRM


  • Contracts signed within a week
  • New contracts captured on CRM.
  • Revenue expected/immediate revenue at least R90 000 plus per quarter


  • Obtain customer enquiries for services and ensure that quotations are done


  • All administration duties performed accurately and timeously


  • Perform forecasting and reporting on sales weekly/monthly as and when equired
  • Present weekly, monthly or quarterly qualified sales
  • Use the CRM system to generate reports


  • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports that clearly show new business
  • Accurate reports and forecasts done timeously
  • Update forecasts according to changes


  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time-to-time by management

Working Conditions:

Office based and travel

  • Extended working hours when required
  • Matric and diploma or degree in Sales and Marketing or related qualification.
  • Driver’s license and own reliable vehicle is essential.
  • Technical telecommunications understanding is essential.
  • 3-5 years recent business sales experience in telecoms and related industries i.e., office automation, enterprise software, etc.
  • Must have recent proven track record in building client base in SME segment.

General Computer Literacy:

Good working knowledge of MS office software packages.
